Turning of the Year...
The turning of the year came upon us again.
That moment to pause and reflect.
That time to change things we have left unchanged
As the turning came, how did we face it?
Did we welcome it as a new beginning?
Did we dread it for the troubles it might bring?
Did we approach with caution unsure of it?
As the turning came, how are we going forward?
Have we reopened our Bibles to refresh our souls?
Have we found our secret place of prayer to meet with God?
Have we found ourselves a place to fellowship with fellow believers?
As the turning of the year has come, are we using it as a time to refocus and draw closer to God no matter what happens?
Are we crying out to Jesus, for salvation, hope, and peace?
Are we listening to the Spirit as it guides us through the waters?
Pause and reflect.
Embrace God's refreshing and restoration this year and always!

Do we talk to all our friends and those we know trying to get their take?
Do seek advice from questionable places who might not have our best in mind?
Do we fall on our knees calling out to One who guides our Pathway?
Do we go to the hustle and bustle of the chaos and try to find answers there?
Do we go to the seats of those who might guide us down a path we don't desire?
Do we go to the quiet stillness of His altar and wildlands, where we might here His still small voice?
Do we turn to our friends, family, and those we trust?
Do we turn to the world, its guides, and ways?
Do we turn to the Great Shepherd who knows the Way, through the dark valleys and high mountains, and all the river crossings along the journey?
As we look at the crossroads,
As we move into a New Year,
As we step out in Faith along our journey with Jesus,
May we always turn to Him along life's Pathway.
This day, this night, and evermore!

In the quiet stillness of the predawn morning, I praise You.
In the soft quiet of the falling snow, I marvel at Your creation.
In the quite when my voice cannot speak, I meditate on Your provision.
I learn to seek Your face.
In the icy cold, as the trees glisten and the crows caw, I learn Your Way.
In the frosty breath, as I go about my day, I learn to lean upon Your Truths.
In the peace of the winter's dusk, I thank You for Your guidance each day.
In the peace of a winter's night, I sleep in the shelter of Your wings.
In the peace of a winter's Sunday, I fellowship among those who seek Your Way, no matter the trials we face.
May you seek the peace Jesus offers in the quiet and the calm, which Winter can so mightily remind us of!

I met with you in the cool of the evening before the Fall...
I would still meet those who sought me after that...
I called Abram of Ur into the wildlands of Cannan...
I wrestled with Jacob in the wilderness by the Jabbok River...
I called Moses and the children of Israel to worship Me in the Wilderness...
When they rebelled I still walked with them through their time of wandering in the desert...
I called them to live semi-nomadic, worshiping in the tent of meeting, and foraging off the land alone every seventh year...
When they chose to live like those surrounding them, still they would meet with me in brush shelters annually...
Still is sent them prophets, voices calling from the wildlands, to show them My Way...
When I came to live among them, I was born as a stable, worked with wood as a carpenter, had no place to lay My head, camping often in the wilderness and gardens outside of town...
I died on a tree, was buried in a rock grave, and rose up out of that Earth... the curse of the Fall to remove.
I return through the sky into Heaven, but still do I show myself to those who follow Me..
To Stephen as they stoned him, to Paul in the desert, to John on Patmos...
Still, I call to my children, "In the Wildlands, this is the Way I save.
Come and follow Me, and be Voices crying in the Wildlands..."
