Jesus in the Wildlands

In the days when the Earth was young, far younger than it is now, there was a Perfect Garden of Food Forests, where people dwelt in peace and harmony.   Jesus would often walk within this Garden with the men and women, teaching them and guiding them.  In this perfect Garden, folks could eat of anything, except the forbidden fruit.  People had only one job, and that was to tend to the Garden.

One day the Trickster came into the Garden, and tempted folks with his so-called wisdom.  He tempted them with forbidden knowledge, of advanced agriculture and cities, of no longer living in harmony with the Creator and the Wildlands, of which we are all a part.  Folks took the bait and descended into utter chaos.

It was after this that humanity fell from harmony, peace, and food forests slipped farther and farther into the background.  No longer could Jesus walk freely among His people.  Only a few remember His teachings of living in peace and harmony within the wildlands.  To them, He visited and supped with them.

Jesus longed to walk among his people more, and would often call out, "In the beginning departure, I Am Calling, in the Wildland is the Way to Restore."  A few heard His call and set out into the wildlands as semi-nomadic dwellers to fellowship with Jesus and live off the land.  They would plant food forests, and work as semi-nomadic herder clans, using the native plants and foods of the land, and hunting as needed.  Every seventh year they would let the land rest and only live on what was gathered wild for that year.

These small clans would grow into small tribes, and over time would fall prey to the temptations of surrounding civilizations. They at times would build small cities, only to abandon them, when they rediscovered Jesus's teachings. Once, twice, three times the surrounding civilizations tried to capture them, but they would not be integrated into that narrative, and then civilizations tried to wipe them off the earth.

As civilization did so, Jesus decided it was time to live among his people for longer than just evening visits.  So he came and dwelt among his people, living as a semi-nomadic carpenter and teacher.  He gathered twelve men and seven women, who in turn gathered others, and taught them the stories and love of his pathways.  Then the empire had him "killed" upon a Tree, but Jesus and His story cannot die.  Jesus came up out of the Rock tomb after three days, and continued to teach his people for over a month before he returned to his Sky home, where those who follow His ways travel when they walk death's trail.

For generations, the empires of history tried to either destroy those who followed Jesus's Way, or co-opt Jesus's teaching for their own agenda.  Until the days when the generations came to despise Him and those who follow him, having lost the knowledge of how He wished us to live.

Listen here, and learn again to walk Jesus's pathway in the desert, as Voice's crying in the Wildlands...
